Teaching Philosophy

My core belief about theatre education is that our goal is not to shape future actors but rather to create better adults. Theatre is a potent avenue for self-expression. It is proven that students involved in the arts do better in school, and adults involved in the arts have a higher quality of life. But the benefits of theatre education not only extend to the students themselves, but the world around them. Participating in and watching theatre teaches children empathy, problem-solving skills and expands their worldview and the perspectives they are exposed to. This is why theatre education is so fundamental.
